The Volkswagen Beetle - thanks to its superlative reliability and uncomplicated upkeep - was a fixture on the global rally circuit from the 1950s through to the 1980s, and this model is inspired by such rallying Beetles. What better chassis to pair it with than the shaft-driven 4WD MF-01X, which is at home on a range of surfaces from road to flat dirt? About the Model • This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 397mm, width: 163mm. • The model uses the 239mm L wheelbase. • The playful form of the Beetle is captured artfully in polycarbonate. Bumpers and side mirrors are recreated using separate metal-plated parts. • Front light pods and brand new rally-style stickers are included to give the model a rally car air. Rally block tires offer excellent grip. • The MF-01X is at home on-road or on flat dirt, thanks to 4-wheel double wishbone suspension. • Power from the rear mounted motor is transmitted by gear differential to the rear wheels, and via a propeller shaft to the front. (The first generation Dax in 1969 was recreated by Item 16002.) Following on from the popular Monkey (Z-series) bikes, the Honda minibike Dax was announced in 1969. The Dax had a distinctive T-bone frame crafted in pressed steel which housed the fuel tank, and centrifugal clutch engine. It was designed to be ridden by anyone, anywhere, and its charming, distinctive form was loved all around the world. Although its Japanese sales finished in 1981, the Dax returned in 1995 with a similar design to the original. In 2022, Honda announced the Dax125 which inherits the established Dax identity, incorporating elements such as the T-bone frame, a long bench seat, a chrome upswept muffler and more. It can be ridden both on city streets and the open road. Owners can choose between the rich tone of pearl nebula red and understated yet elegant pearl cadet gray for the body. This Dax125 has a limited edition: the Dax 125 Tamiya Limited Edition - the idea of official Honda dealer Cub House in Thailand - which was announced at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show. It employs a sumptuous metallic blue body adorned with Tamiya twin star logos plus some checkered flag motifs to get the pulse racing. With dedicated stickers for the muffler heat guard and wheel rims, this version features a horn cover with Dachshund emblem, dedicated serial number for each of these limited edition bikes, and dedicated helmet with Tamiya logo. It certainly fascinated motorcycle fans - whether that be full size or in miniature scale – across the globe. The VFR750R is a street-legal counterpart of the formidable RVF750 endurance racer which displayed remarkable potential in the world endurance championships. This bike follows the concept seen in the RVF750, including the use of space-age technology and components such as titanium, carbon-fiber, kevlar, and magnesium. It betters the earlier bikes by a wide margin. The VFR750R also uses a twin-spar aluminum box frame, Pro-Arm (rear swing arm), and a center-lock hub rear wheel. These superlative features and the RVF's racing reputation have made it a collector's item even before the first unit was off the production line. The 748cc, liquid cooled, V4 cylinder 16 valve engine has been kept compact to keep the VFR's overall dimensions very close to the current 500cc Grand Prix racers, for a minimum frontal area. Further, this motorcycle departs from the typical Japanese mass-production practice by using a great deal of human labor on each unit, such as the FRP cowling and windscreen being laid up by hand. The Honda VFR750R is one potent package and has been designed to be very competitive on racing tracks in stock form, yet remain street legal. It was deployed in the Korean War in 1950, and showed off overwhelming strength which saved the Allied forces from crisis many times. The production reached about 2,800 between 1948 and 1956. Newly-designed parts are included in the kit to accurately capture the modifications which distinguish it from the original F4U-1. The F4U-1A drew on the experience of Navy and US Marine Corps pilots' experience with the original aircraft, making modifications to further improve the performance of this legendary bird. One of the most noticeable alterations was the discarding of the "birdcage" cockpit and its extensive frame sections that hampered visibility; a semi-bubble canopy with minimal frame was installed instead, which improved the pilot's view and made it easier to land the F4U-1A. Additional upgrades included raising the pilot's seat 18cm to help with visibility, and later extending tail wheel struts by 16.5cm. A wedge shaped spoiler was added to the starboard wing to correct the tendency of the port wing to stall first and roll out of control. Such modifications contributed greatly to the F4U-1A's suitability for use from aircraft carriers; although by this time it had been passed over for that duty by the F6F Hellcat. Unlike its predecessor, the F4U-1A would later be used as fighter-bomber, and was given the capability of carrying a drop tank under the fuselage, plus a bomb rack for use on raids supporting ground troops. This combination of fearsome performance in the air and bombing capability made the F4U-1A a vital component as the Allied forces conducted their 'island hopping' strategy progressing through the Solomon Islands. The origin of the Jeep vehicle dates back to early 1941, when U.S. Forces ordered the Willys, Ford, and Bantam companies to develop prototypes of a small sized multi-purpose 4-wheel drive vehicle. During the early stage of WW2, Germany had achieved outstanding successes by using motorized troops with their "Blitzkrieg" tactics. It became a pressing need for allied nations to possess tough and reliable vehicles with excellent cross-country ability. In November 1941, the Army, with alterations on the front grille and hood to the Ford design, chose the Willy"s vehicle as the basis for the mass production model. This marked the birth of the Willys MB (Model B) that provided unmatched ability to transport Allied troops during the conflict. The early Willys MB had a welded, slat type front grille. Due to the necessity of increasing production, the Army ordered Ford to join the mass production using the Willys MB"s blueprints. It was designated the GPW, and a simple, pressed steelfront grille was introduced. During WW2, the Willys MB and Ford GPW ran over every battlefield. As a means of transit for soldiers, it played an important role in bringing the Allied victory. In 1939, BSA began production of a military version of their M20 commercial motorcycle that was fitted with a Lucas light and other additional equipment. It was powered by a 12hp single-cylinder 500cc side-valve engine and offered superb reliability and ease of maintenance. Modifications were made during the course of the production and late-war motorcycles featured an air filter fitted onto the fuel tank. Over 126,000 units were produced during the war and most of them were deployed with the British Army. They saw service on every front for a wide range of duties including liaison and supply convoy escort. Some were also used by the RAF and British Navy. SdKfz.171 Panther A (2) In the beginning of 1942, in order to fight against the T-34, the German military ordered a new tank from Dymler-Benz and M.A.N. companies with the following specifications: Weight- 35 tons; speed- 60 km/h; armament 75mm long gun and armour, 60mm thick in front hull, 35mm thick in the rear and 100 mm at the front of the gun turret. Lastly, it was specified that the tank be equipped with a Maiback HL210, water-cooled, V-type 12 cylinder engine. In May of the same year, M.A.N.'s model was chosen without waiting for completion of a prototype tank. However, there were 2 important modifications. First, in order to meet the military's demand, considerably more than the original 35 ton weight was needed. Second, the military ordered a change in the thickness of the frontal armour from 60mm to 80mm. Because of these changes, the engine type had to be chanded from HL210 to HL230. Then, in order to accommodate this engine, a much better gear was needed, but mass production began without this last change, which resulted in frequent gear malfunctions and related trouble. This became the Panther's greatest defect. In the same year, Dymler-Benz and Henschel were ordered to produce the Panther. Therefore, production was greatly increased and a total of 6283 Panther Tanks were produced, second only to P2KW-4 in number. The first mass produced Panther type D was not equipped with a machine gun but after the experience of close battle. A 7.92mm MG 34 was added to the Panther's right front hull armament beginning with its type A. The special feature of the Panther was the left and right driving mechanism. This created an interchangeability of movements, using the torsion bar system. By 1944, the Panther was further improved from Type A to Type G with a change in its side shape. The Panther continued its activities against the Allied Forces throughout the latter half of the war. One of the famed battles it waged during this latter period probably is the one against the new Soviet JS II heavy tank on the eastern front. The Panther at that time, was the main strength tank of the Gross Deutschland, the strongest German Mechanized Division, under the command of General Hasso Von Manteuffel. The Panther reportedly destroyed 350 JS II tanks and 20 other armoured vehicles in the battle. It was a complete one-sided victory for the Panther and one for the book of military history. The Panther, therefore, was an extremely balanced tactical tank and should be called a masterpiece destined to bear the last glory of German war technology. It's glorious name will forever remain in the records of the 2nd World War. Since 1943, during World War II, thee appeared an unusually fast tank on the European Front that silhoueted among its German Mechanized Division. This was the "Panther" medium tank, with its formidable power of attack and fast maneuverability, that soon became an object of terror to men of the Allied Forces. If put to a question, "Which was the best German tank during the war?" The majority of the people, without hesitation will answer the name "Panther". It is known that the PZKW-IV and the Tiger-II tanks were also produced by German technology and were both outstanding tanks. But the PZKW-IV was meant to be replaced by the Panther, and the Panther, showing improved attacking and defensive powers and accurate maneuver ability on the field, soon became the German's main strength tank. The Tiger I with its 88mm gun would seem at first to be superior to the Panther's 75mm gun in attacking power. But when viewed from the point of armour piercing power of the shell, the Panther, with its 70 caliber KWK 42 anti tank gun and sloping side armour provided much stronger in actual fighting than the Tiger I's 56 caliber KWK 36 anti tank gun with vertival side armour. The Tiger II tank, which should be called the 'improved Panther' was much stronger in attacking and defensive power than the Panther. However, considering the number of Panthers produced and used during this time, the Panther tank was still number 1. The main strength German tanks at the start of the war were all unique in the sense that their designs were completely based on German plans and ideas. But the Panther was influenced by the Soviet masterpiece tank T-34 which was seen for the first time on the east European Front. Ger. Panther Med. Tank Warning! Historical background Chikuma was the last heavy cruiser the Imperial Japanese Navy constructed during WWII and was completed in May 1939 as the second ship of the Tone-class. Her four twin 20.3cm guns were located at the bow to enable unhindered operation of up to 6 floatplanes at the stern. Her design also enabled a top speed of 35 knots and a long range. She was assigned to the Carrier Mobile Fleet with her sister ship Tone. During the Pearl Harbor Attack in December 1941, her floatplanes carried out pre-attack reconnaissance over the Pearl Harbor, which greatly contributed to the IJN's success of the operation. She was also active during the Battle of Midway and the Solomon Islands campaign. During the Battle of the Leyte Gulf in October 1944, she was the flagship of Admiral Kurita's fleet and contributed to the sinking of the USS Gambier Bay but she was in turn damaged by torpedoes and scuttled off the coast of Samar Island.
