The original design dates back to the 1930"s when Dr. Ferdinand Porsche provided the design framework for the "People"s Car." Today, with more than 20 million units produced, the Volkswagen Beetle has become a symbol of mass-produced motorization, with no other vehicle exceeding this figure. Built upon the sturdy platform chassis is the amazingly reliable air cooled, flat-four cylinder engine. Suspension is four wheel independent for crisp handling and driving comfort. Although the onset of the Second World War greatly hindered Volkswagen"s marketing opportunities, it made a superb comeback shortly following the conflict, under the skillful guidance of Heinrich Nordhoff. Throughout its production life, the Volkswagen was continuously improved to meet modern automobile standards. An enlarged powerplant displacement and better visibility are two of the notable changes that enabled the Beetle to set standards for the compact car market, decade after decade. The 1966 Volkswagen model is regarded as the classic Beetle, one that retains the most of the original design traits, and it has become a collector"s item. Even today, more than half a century later, watching a nimble street bug is still a pleasant sight to behold, and its unmistakable shape will likely delight generations to come. In fact, the actual car's three-piece roof opens and closes in just thirteen seconds, and all at the push of a single button. It also features tweaks to its chassis and suspension to accommodate the heavier top section, while retaining all of Mazda’s vaunted safety features. About the Model • This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 164mm, width: 80mm. • The kit depicts the 2017 model MX-5 RF, complete with options available on top grade models in the Japan market such as Recaro seats, and BBS wheels. • Modelers can choose to assemble the kit as Japanese, US, UK or European market spec, and have the option of depicting the hard top up or down, thanks to new roof and rear/side window parts.

This hi-tech modern car was designed under the lead of Acura, and employs the Super Handling-All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) hybrid system deploying 3 electric motors in tandem with the 3.5-liter V6. One of the motors is between the engine and the 9-speed dual clutch transmission, while the other two act upon one of the front wheels each, to provide exacting cornering. The car also has four distinct drive modes that provide performance tailored to the conditions. The body and space frame are extremely lightweight, using aluminum and high strength steel extensively. The whole assembly process is taken care of in a brand new Honda manufacturing facility in Ohio, U.S.A. Article number: 300024245 Product: 1/24 Honda S2000 Honda's first passenger production car, the S500 open two seater sportscar, was first announced in the 1962 Tokyo Motor Show, going on sale the following year. After the production termination of its successor, the S800, Honda moved away from producing front-engine/rear-wheel drive sports cars. September of 1998 saw the sensational rebirth of this type, with the announcement of the S2000. This open two seater features the traditional sports car look with a puposeful long nose/short deck styling. Futuristic headlights wrap around the side, appearing to be pulled back, poised for speed. The naturally aspirated 2.0 liter inline-4 DOHC-VTEC powerplant pumps out over 250hp, yet still manages to reduce toxic exhaust emissions to 1/10th the level of its predecessors. The positioning of the engine is also ideal, sitting just behind the front wheel axle in interest of 50/50 weight distribution. The sturdy body and superior road handling, meshed with a four-wheel double wishbone suspension and a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission, offer high tractability and synthesis between car and driver. The inside of the cabin features bucket seats, state of the art digital indicators, and a red button for starting the engine. Of course, the impact safe design, air bag, and all the other safety features of modern sports cars have also been thoroughly considered. The real car began life as a prototype for the German motor giant’s works racing team, taking part in international races, and in 1954 a production version debuted at the International Motor Show in New York. Despite nominal road car status the 300SL was still a very racy vehicle and proved popular, particularly in the United States. It possessed a 3-liter engine (hence the 300 in its name), and a highly lightweight body (SL stands for Sport Leicht, lit. "light sports") with striking gull wing doors. 1,400 cars were produced by the end of its production run in May 1957. The Tamiya model kit captures the real life subject down to the working Gull-Wing doors and complex tubular space frame. Over the years, various models of the 911 have been released, including the 1998 Le Mans-winning 911 GT1. In 1999, the "heart" of that automotive masterpiece, the water-cooled flat-six engine, was inherited by the Porsche 911 GT3. The brainchildren behind that machine are Porsche's development engineers in Weissach, who imbued it with superior agility and handling, without compromising active safety. Capable of accelerating to 100km/h in a mere 4.8 seconds, and with a top speed of 302km/h, the GT3 achieved a new record for production cars when it completed a lap on the northern circuit of Nuerburgring in only 7.56 minutes. The exterior appearance of the GT3 remains true to that of its predecessors, but features a new rear end, discreet side-sills, fixed rear wing, red brake calipers and sporty 18-inch light-alloy wheels. Compared with the 911 Carrera, the four-piston aluminum fixed monobloc brake calipers are larger and sturdier than before, and tightly grip the perforated brake discs. The GT3 cockpit is true reflection of its performance. It features leather-covered bucket seats, which ensure not only ample side support, but also comfort on long journeys and provide about 20kg of weight savings. And since the entire rear-seat section of the car has been dropped, the overall weight of the GT3 was reduced by another 8kg-a true benefit for a sports car of this performance level. Tamiya has recreated this epoch-making sports car in 1/24 scale. The intricate engine is visible when model is viewed from below. The upper surface features a four part rear-wing construction, enhancing the sophistication of the body design. Kit also comes with the Porsche emblem, authentically recreated as a metal transfer. The inside of the detailed cockpit includes a carpet seat for the floor. Glossy metallic parts are used on the wheels, headlight reflectors, door mirrors and muffler. Warning!
