Article number: 300035269 Product: 1/35 US MBT M1A2 Abrams Iraqi Freedom(2) U.S. M1A2 Abrams 120mm Gun Main Battle Tank The M1 Abrams, the worlds' strongest tank, has undergone step-by-step modification since its commission by the US military in 1980. The M1A2 evolved from the M1A1HA, and features Intervehicular Information System (IVIS) and Commander's Independent Thermal Viewer (CITV). Kit features A2 turret comes with CITV and new style vision block. About the M1A2 Abrams The M1 Abrams, officially commissioned by the US military in 1980, was designed totally different from previous post-WWII US military tanks. Although fitted with the same 105mm cannon as the M60, the M1 was powered by a gas turbine engine and was fitted with spaced armor. Planned to be commissioned by the US military over a long period, the M1 was designed with future reforms in mind. In 1984, the M1A1 was developed with a 120mm smooth bore cannon, and a further variant the M1A1HA was later developed featuring depleted uranium armor. This then led to the M1A2, which was fitted with Intervehicular Information System (IVIS), Commander's Independent Thermal Viewer (CITV) turret and new style vision block. The M1A1HA and the M1A2 both played significant roles in Operation Iraqi Freedom, being deployed by land forces as well as the Marine Corps as they moved toward Baghdad. 1:35 WWI Brit. Tank Mk. IV Male (mot.)
300030057€95.99
Article number: 300030057 Product: 1/35 WWI Brit. Tank Mk. IV Male (mot.) Tamiya is delighted to announce its maiden foray into the world of WWI models, in the year which marks the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities in what was then known as the Great War. The tanks which appeared in the conflict were the first ever seen on the battlefield, and were the forerunners of a whole line of military vehicles which is still being developed further today. The Mk.IV tank was a successor to the Mk.I, which was drawn up by British designers in attempt to break the stalemate of trench warfare experienced on the Western Front; the rhombus-shaped hull was designed to aid in crossing the extensive network of trenches. The Mk.I, first thrown into live action in September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, had "male" (fitted with 57mm, 6-pound guns) and "female" (fitted only with machine guns) versions. Around 1,000 Mk.IV tanks were manufactured after 1917, and they inherited their shape and male/female weaponry and classifications from the Mk.I, but with significantly upgraded armor. Around 400 were used en masse in the November 1917 Battle of Cambrai to great effect, and with the world cottoning on to the new vehicle’s potential the maiden tank vs. tank battle was not far behind: in 1918, the Mk.IV faced off against its German counterpart the AV7. Only an estimated 18 were ever produced, between August and December 1944, and they were somewhat unwieldy in that they weighed around 65 tons. Nonetheless, they would still have proved a frightening foe to those who encountered them in the Battle of the Bulge, the Warsaw Uprising and the invasion of the German homeland. Warning! This machine became the centerpiece of their mechanized corps throughout WWII. The half-track could drive on difficult terrain and could easily tow various kinds of trailers and cannons. The Ausf.D was designed for ease of production and various types were produced, including those equipped with wireless radios and gun turrets. Article number: 300032589 Product: 1:48 Tank destroyer Elefant This is a 1/48 scale assembly model of the German Heavy Tank Destroyer Elephant. The newly tooled 1/48 Elefant has extensive detail, even at this smaller scale, thanks to the extensive research conducted by Tamiya's designers to make the 1/35 scale rendition. The development of the full-size Elefant is an interesting case study in weapons development. Its chassis was developed by Porsche in the design competition for the Tiger I, but while Porsche was sure enough of its success to ready 100 examples of the chassis before the end of the competition, the design was not chosen. The "left over" chassis were turned into the Elefant on the orders of Hitler in 1942 - some 90 examples were built by May 1943. With armor plates, up to 200mm thick and a powerful long-caliber 8.8cm gun, it was a formidable piece of equipment, and served German troops until the end of WWII.

Article number: 300035352 Product: 1:35 Brit. Valentine Mk. II/IV This is an all new tooled model of the British Valentine Infantry tank in 1/35 scale. British armor doctrine in the 1930s up to the outbreak of WWII called for 2 types of tank - more mobile cruiser tanks and heavy, slow infantry tanks. The Valentine was a prolifically produced example of the latter (7,315 units, more than 30% of British tank production in WWII). It was based upon existing cruiser tank designs and relatively easy to manufacture, a critical point for the British military after it had lost so much material during the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940. The Valentine would see extensive action in North Africa, particularly the Mk.II and Mk.IV variants (they had different engines) depicted by this kit. Over 4,500 were also handed over to the Soviet Union under the lend-lease agreement, the Red Army using them mainly for recon work. Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

E/F 38(t)s were manufactured over a one-year period from November 1940; they featured improved armor and were thrown into the conflict with Soviet forces after the start of Operation Barbarossa. • This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. • Tamiya designers studied a real 38(t) in the Kubinka Tank Museum, getting the data to make this highlyaccurate model with detail right down to the rivets. • The turret front left sight moves in conjunction with the 3.7cm gun. • Features a realistic recreation of the suspension with large road wheels and upper return rollers. • Assembly type tracks give natural recreation of the upper run ‘sag.’. Article number: 300035244 Product: 1:35 US M26 Tank Recovery Vehicle (6) Hook'em up, Tow'em out! It was a clash that would shape the future of Europe and the rest of the world for years to come. The Allied Liberation of Europe began on the June 6th, 1944, on the beaches of Normandy, and lasted until Germany's surrender on May 9th, 1945. The Sherman tanks of the U.S. Army began their steady advance into the European mainland, wrenching Europe piece-by-piece from the clutches of Germany. However, the massive tanks of the Wehrmacht such as Tiger and Panther would prove overpowering against the agile, yet considerably smaller Shermans. One of the major factors that allowed the Allies' advance to continue despite this disparity in power was the quick recovery and repair of battle damaged tanks. That is where the M26 Armored Tank Recovery Vehicles and their brave crews came in. The M26 first saw action on the Italian Front of 1943, and was later extensively used in the inland advancement of the Allies following the Invasion at Normandy. In all kinds of weather, in the middle of the night, or under a barrage of enemy fire, the repair crews continually fulfilled their duty to recover and repair damaged tanks. About the Model •Overall length: 225mm, overall width: 106mm. •Weighty feel of full sized vehicle very apparent in 1/35 model. •Slide molding techniques used to recreated the cabin as one highly detailed piece. Window armor can be modeled in the open or closed position. Tandem winch and crane overflow with realism. Vice, welding equipment and other accessory parts recreated in outstanding detail. The "A-arm" rear support can be assembled in one of five angles. •Kit features abundant use of metal parts such as photo etched parts, pipes, and chains. Chrome plated and transparent parts used for various lights. Rubber tires with real tread pattern. •Six types of decals are included, as are four figures (two types) for the cabin and two standing figures. 1:35 US Willys Jeep MB 4x4 (1)
300035219soon available again
Article number: 300035219 Product: 1:35 US Willys Jeep MB 4x4 (1) Without a doubt the Jeep Willys MB occupies a significant position in the whole automotive history. The origin of the Jeep vehicle dates back to early 1941, when U.S. Forces ordered the Willys, Ford, and Bantam companies to develop prototypes of a small sized multi-purpose 4-wheel drive vehicle. During the early stage of WW2, Germany had achieved outstanding successes by using motorized troops with their "Blitzkrieg" tactics. It became a pressing need for allied nations to possess tough and reliable vehicles with excellent cross-country ability. In November 1941, the Army, with alterations on the front grille and hood to the Ford design, chose the Willy"s vehicle as the basis for the mass production model. This marked the birth of the Willys MB (Model B) that provided unmatched ability to transport Allied troops during the conflict. The early Willys MB had a welded, slat type front grille. Due to the necessity of increasing production, the Army ordered Ford to join the mass production using the Willys MB"s blueprints. It was designated the GPW, and a simple, pressed steelfront grille was introduced. During WW2, the Willys MB and Ford GPW ran over every battlefield. As a means of transit for soldiers, it played an important role in bringing the Allied victory. It was also used for liason, command, communication and sometimes even as an ambulance for a light firearms carrier. Production reached approximately 640,000 units by August 1945. Warning! Modifications were made during the course of the production and late-war motorcycles featured an air filter fitted onto the fuel tank. Over 126,000 units were produced during the war and most of them were deployed with the British Army. They saw service on every front for a wide range of duties including liaison and supply convoy escort. Some were also used by the RAF and British Navy. 1:35 WWII Ger.SdKfz.171 Panther A (2)
300035065soon available again
Article number: 300035065 Product: 1/35 WWII Dt. SdKfz.171 Panther A (2) In the beginning of 1942, in order to fight against the T-34, the German military ordered a new tank from Dymler-Benz and M.A.N. companies with the following specifications: Weight- 35 tons; speed- 60 km/h; armament 75mm long gun and armour, 60mm thick in front hull, 35mm thick in the rear and 100 mm at the front of the gun turret. Lastly, it was specified that the tank be equipped with a Maiback HL210, water-cooled, V-type 12 cylinder engine. In May of the same year, M.A.N.'s model was chosen without waiting for completion of a prototype tank. However, there were 2 important modifications. First, in order to meet the military's demand, considerably more than the original 35 ton weight was needed. Second, the military ordered a change in the thickness of the frontal armour from 60mm to 80mm. Because of these changes, the engine type had to be chanded from HL210 to HL230. Then, in order to accommodate this engine, a much better gear was needed, but mass production began without this last change, which resulted in frequent gear malfunctions and related trouble. This became the Panther's greatest defect. In the same year, Dymler-Benz and Henschel were ordered to produce the Panther. Therefore, production was greatly increased and a total of 6283 Panther Tanks were produced, second only to P2KW-4 in number. The first mass produced Panther type D was not equipped with a machine gun but after the experience of close battle. A 7.92mm MG 34 was added to the Panther's right front hull armament beginning with its type A. The special feature of the Panther was the left and right driving mechanism. This created an interchangeability of movements, using the torsion bar system. By 1944, the Panther was further improved from Type A to Type G with a change in its side shape. The Panther continued its activities against the Allied Forces throughout the latter half of the war. One of the famed battles it waged during this latter period probably is the one against the new Soviet JS II heavy tank on the eastern front. The Panther at that time, was the main strength tank of the Gross Deutschland, the strongest German Mechanized Division, under the command of General Hasso Von Manteuffel. The Panther reportedly destroyed 350 JS II tanks and 20 other armoured vehicles in the battle. It was a complete one-sided victory for the Panther and one for the book of military history. The Panther, therefore, was an extremely balanced tactical tank and should be called a masterpiece destined to bear the last glory of German war technology. It's glorious name will forever remain in the records of the 2nd World War. Since 1943, during World War II, thee appeared an unusually fast tank on the European Front that silhoueted among its German Mechanized Division. This was the "Panther" medium tank, with its formidable power of attack and fast maneuverability, that soon became an object of terror to men of the Allied Forces. If put to a question, "Which was the best German tank during the war?" The majority of the people, without hesitation will answer the name "Panther". It is known that the PZKW-IV and the Tiger-II tanks were also produced by German technology and were both outstanding tanks. But the PZKW-IV was meant to be replaced by the Panther, and the Panther, showing improved attacking and defensive powers and accurate maneuver ability on the field, soon became the German's main strength tank. The Tiger I with its 88mm gun would seem at first to be superior to the Panther's 75mm gun in attacking power. But when viewed from the point of armour piercing power of the shell, the Panther, with its 70 caliber KWK 42 anti tank gun and sloping side armour provided much stronger in actual fighting than the Tiger I's 56 caliber KWK 36 anti tank gun with vertival side armour. The Tiger II tank, which should be called the 'improved Panther' was much stronger in attacking and defensive power than the Panther. However, considering the number of Panthers produced and used during this time, the Panther tank was still number 1. The main strength German tanks at the start of the war were all unique in the sense that their designs were completely based on German plans and ideas. But the Panther was influenced by the Soviet masterpiece tank T-34 which was seen for the first time on the east European Front. Ger. Panther Med. Tank Warning! 1:48 US M10 Mid Production
300032519soon available again
Article number: 300032519 Product: 1:48 US M10 Mid Production Between 1941 and 1942 the M3 self-propelled gun was the backbone of the US anti-tank division. Consisting of the M3 half-track with mounted 36 caliber 75 mm anti-tank gun, it proved ineffective in fighting German armour, calling for a more manoeuvrable tank destroyer with increased firepower. In November 1941 a prototype T35 tank destroyer was manufactured. Officially adopted in June 1942 under the designation M10, it was the US Army's first full-track tank destroyer. The M10 had the lower chassis from the M4A2 Sherman, but was fitted with a lower, redesigned upper section. Designed for maximum manoeuvrability, the M10's armour was relatively thin. To compensate for this weakness, an angled chassis was chosen to increase bullet deflection. A 50 caliber M7 3-inch (76.2 mm) cannon was mounted in the rotating, open-topped turret. Firing M62 capped armour-piercing shells (APC), the M7 3 gun could penetrate 88 mm armour at a range of 1000 m with an impact angle of up to 30 degrees. The M10 featured a GMC 6064 (or 6064D) 2-stroke water-cooled diesel engine that produced 375hp for a top speed of 48 km/h. The M10 was fitted with a counterweight at the rear of the turret, with early designs carrying box weights and later triangular weights. Serial production ran from September 1942 to December 1943 for a total of 6706 vehicles, including those with M10A1 petrol engines. Model kit, Scale 1:48, Vehicle, Manual, Decal, Length 143 mm.

Article number: 300032584 Product: 1:48 Ger. Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf. H Late Prod. The Panzer IV was one of the most feared weapons in WWII, and would serve German forces throughout the conflict in the guise of a number of variants. The Ausf.H variant itself featured early, middle and late production types, all of which were armed with a L/48 75mm gun and featured "Schürzen" armor side skirts for greater protection. Late production Panzer IVs were identifiable by their tracks: they lacked a center guide. Upper road wheels had their rubber tires removed and were made into steel wheels, while the tank received cast metal idler wheels. 3,774 Ausf.H Panzer IVs were produced between April 1943 and July 1944, and it was eventually succeeded by the Ausf.J. The Tamiya model in 1/48 scale captures every detail and nuance of the real life subject thanks to extensive research of the full size vehicle. Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.
