1:32 F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage", plastic assembly kit

The 1:32 F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage" plastic assembly kit recreates one of the most distinctive naval fighters of World War II with inverted gull wings, a large propeller and the early canopy style that gave the aircraft its nickname. New tooling based on extensive research brings the airframe into scale form with sharply defined surface structure, so the finished model carries crisp panel lines and rivet detail whether displayed on the ground or in flight. Beyond the outer skin, the build reaches into areas often left plain on aircraft kits. The oil cooler, intercooler and air passageways visible from the air intakes at the wing center are faithfully recreated, giving the interior more depth around the fuselage and wing root. Main landing gear parts allow either raised or retracted presentation, and 2 sets of photo-etched parts add finer definition to selected details. A masking sticker is provided for the "birdcage" canopy, while 3 marking options support different finishing directions. Assembly time is stated as 600 minutes. Paints are required separately. The included stand supports an airborne display that suits the Corsair's bent-wing silhouette, while the Mk. XLI bomb rack and 2 pilot figures add further scene-building options. One figure depicts a seated pilot and the other a standing pilot, opening up different display arrangements beside or within the aircraft. A 12-page B5 commemorative booklet with photographs and documentation is also included with the kit.
